User Interface Designs – Maximizing User Experience

As we all know, user interface design is the design of user interfaces for electronic devices, machines, mobile devices, software etc that provides users with maximum user experience.  A good user interface design stands out by its ease of use, aesthetic appeal, user-friendly nature, efficiency and making the interaction with the system as simple and easy as possible for users to achieve their business goals. User interface design presupposes that the designer empathizes with the user’s needs, actions and expectations and ensures that the interface has elements that are easy to access, understand, and help facilitate those actions. Empathy with the user is the heart of user interface design. User interface brings together concepts from interaction, design, visual design and information architecture. Focus to be on User Experience The better your user interface, the more your users will like it and the more aesthetically pleasing, the more desirable it is to the end user. However, it so happens that quite often the important role played by user interface in generating greater web traffic and lead generation is not fully understood. Due attention is not paid on following the principles and techniques needed to design a good user interface. For some, as long as the application works, everything is perfect; but this approach ignores the difficulties encountered by users. I would suggest that every designer follow a few basic principles while designing a user interface design. These principles were propounded by Larry Constantine and Lucy Lockwood and include among others: Ease of Use & Simple Navigation: The design should provide for easy navigation and enable users to do the common tasks in an easy and familiar manner. The navigation between widgets should be organized in a manner familiar to users and it should sport a professional look. Fast Loading The user interface design should allow for fast interaction and should not burden users with slow processes. The faster the page loads, the more engaged the user would be who will then go deeper in to the site leading to better conversions. Search engines will penalize a slow- loading site and rank it further down the search results. Targeting End User Always target the end user and design the interface in a way that should provide him with easy navigation to achieve his goals. If the end user finds the interface too difficult to understand and handle, there is every possibility that the user may click the back button and exit from the site resulting in no conversions. Good Visibility The design should make all needed options and materials for a given task visible without distracting the user with redundant information. Good designs do not overwhelm users with alternatives or confuse with unnecessary information Aesthetics A good user interface    design should be aesthetically pleasant and should provide the user with a visually appealing user experience. Feedback There should be a system feedback and users should be informed of actions through messages in clear, concise and unambiguous language familiar to users. Undo function The user interface design should provide for an “undo” button. This will enable users to undo steps that they feel is unnecessary on a second thought or one, which they may have done mistakenly. Techmaven IT Solutions builds web user interface designs and mobile user interface designs that are interactive, easy to operate, focus on users’ needs and goals and help improve the visual display of various products and services. Conclusion A well-built user interface design thus ensures better user experience, brings in increased customer loyalty, guarantees lower bounce rates, results in higher conversions rates and ultimately helps users accomplish their goals in an easy and convenient manner.
